Disability rights awareness month (DRAM) and international day for persons with disabilities (IDPD)

At WCRC, we observe Disability Rights Awareness Month (DRAM) each November, culminating in the celebration of International Day for Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) on December 3rd. This event, attended by patients, families, peer supporters, and staff, highlights the rights and achievements of people with disabilities.

The 2024 IDPD theme, “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future,” focused on collaboration, inclusivity, and leadership. Community partners, local artists, and peer supporters played a key role in the event, fostering empowerment. DRAM and IDPD provide valuable educational opportunities and promote resilience, hope, and inclusivity.
