Orthotic and Prosthetic Care

Our Medical Orthotist Prosthetists (MOPs) travel across the province for out-patient clinics, reaching patients in various healthcare institutions. The OPC currently provides 112 outreach services in satellite locations, ensuring accessibility for all.

Our team collaborates seamlessly to provide comprehensive care. The physiotherapist works closely with MOPs for muscle strength and gait analyses, available Monday to Thursday from 07h00-12h00.

Our OFTs specialize in crafting custom orthopedic footwear, a rare skill requiring three years of in-service training. With only four OFTs in the Western Cape, they cater to the entire province, ensuring high-quality and personalized solutions.

Any patient requiring orthotic and prosthetic care can be referred by a member of the Allied Health team and other multidisciplinary team members from any healthcare institution within the province, both from public and private healthcare providers and NGOs.

Any other service provider who wishes to refer a patient may do so simply by scheduling an appointment and sending a referral letter.
