To mark World Mental Health Day, the Western Cape Rehabilitation Centre embraced a week-long programme dedicated to mental health and wellness — reminding us that caring for ourselves is key to caring for others.
Various wellness activities were held throughout the week that aimed to support the emotional well-being of staff and nurture mental and emotional balance. Activities included beading, colouring in, Yoga and Zumba classes. These small moments helped us breathe, move, and reconnect with ourselves and others.
Guest speakers also hosted interactive sessions for members of staff that aimed to promote understanding, reduce stigma, and encourage open conversations about mental health.
The activities of the week provided a beautiful reminder that wellness starts with us.
